o everyone, I'm currently applying for a job as an English teacher at Aramco. I just wanted to know a bit about the housing arrangements, and whether I'd be able to make genuine friends easily. I've already been teaching here in Saudi Arabia for the past year at a ladies' university. I don't mind the abhaya wearing or other restrictions, except transportation has been a major problem. Will I be in a similar situation at Aramco? I'm basically considering leaving my current position at the end of my contract due to two factors: 1) feeling trapped in my apartment, with difficulty going out or exercising outdoors 2) spending weekends on my own Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks so much Nadia

If you get housing on the camps you will be able to go out and about without the abaya on---exercise, jog...they just ask you to dress conservatively. Transportation is taxi's, bus's, bicycles, golf carts (on RT)...usually not a problem getting around. Lots of singles on the camps- they have lots of social things going on either on camp or off.

o
Do go for it as teachers on whichever compound they live on with Aramco do have a great time - lots of parties, lots of activities and transport is available - as the other Aramcon that has posted you will meet people and personally from my point of view you should never ever be bored while I am married we know lots of single teachers here of all different ages well that is on RT but I am sure the same on other Aramcon compounds because please forgive me for saying it sounds like you are feeling isolated which is no good at all.
So keep in touch with us all and let us know what happens.
Good Luck Carolina

You will need a letter of release from your current employer to change jobs inside of KSA.
