Good day everyone,

Im inquiring to see if anyone in the DH compound has sucsesfully shiped a full size motorcycle (4-600 lbs) to S.A. for use in the compound, or if its even allowed. Also I know that the d strip in Baharain is not far at all. I love to d and ride my bike & if im gonna be there for any serious amt of time, then i would love to bring it! Its what you would call a "staple"!! If it is allowed in the compound, what are the chances, laws or rules (if any) to be able to ride it to Baharain, Qatar or maybe even the U.A.E. Any info on this topic would greatly appreciated!!

Yes, you can ship a motorcycle at your own expense.

As far as riding it off camp, you would be putting your life at risk, in my opinion. There are quite a number of people on camp with motorcycles, there is a group who does group rides early on Thursday or Friday, when traffic is much lighter. There is an annual motorcycle parade in Aramco DHA and bikes come in from Kuwait and other places to participate.

Most people drive off camp as they are comfortable to do so. So, you may be comfortable and find great pleasure in riding all those places. Once your bike is registered you should be able to ride it in and out of the country. My friends who take their bikes to a track in Bahrain trailer them there.
