Folks,
Do I need to bring my yard tools? In the relocation guide it says you are responsible for maintaining the yard. I have lots of yard tools and hate to lose them for cheap in gae sale.

You may as well bring them, there is room to keep them in the gae. In reality most people -not all - pay a gardener to come and take care of the yard.

You may want a shovel for digging for sand roses in the desert.

Your gardener would probably appreciate it if you bring two nice hoses with you. Also, we keep a container of hand tools, nice rakes and brooms our gardener uses from time to time when tending our yard. We didn't bother with the lawn mower.

Yes! 100% bring ALL of your tools. I did not bring any of mine and it is costing me a fortune to replace them bit by bit. In regards to the garden, the gardeners are fine for cutting grass, watering plants, cleaning yard etc but there are some jobs you may prefer to do yourself.

Yes, especially 110v power tools you might like. I brought 3 drills, LOL. Don't regret all the tools we brought. Only thing we didn't bring was a lawnmower. Also, if you have nice plant pots, I strongly advise you to bring them, and any patio type stuff you might have or like. It' or miss with styles and prices here. If you look around, you see a lot of hodge podge at folks' homes. Nice glazed pots, especially the larger planters, are expensive and a pain to transport. Also, if you have covers for patio furniture, that would be an important thing to bring. There is this fine mist of dust that collects everywhere, and patio furniture would have to be washed before you use it unless you keep it covered all the time. I suggest you bring some new tarps with tie-downs. They come in handy, and we've had a hard time finding tarps in the stores here.

o
Sorry what I meant was that not to bring a lawnmower but of course other tools will come in handy - if any of you are looking for tarps we know of a shop nearby in Rahema - not expensive but do the job as most of our outdoor furniture when not in use is covered - shame we have to do this but as Hadia has said a fine film of dust goes everywhere!
Oh about cutting of trees or trimming and I can only speak about our gardening department here in RT - when asking for someone to come and trim your tree - BE THERE - to supervise otherwise they will hack it sometimes right to the ground! that happened to us and in the end our lovely tree died due to the stress etc I now wish we had done it ourselves.
My husband had to buy all new tools and it took time finding what he required and was very costly as well.
