Hi there
I'm wondering about the medical for spouses travelling to KSA. Originally I was to be travelling with my husband to KSA but that has changed and he will now be travelling first and I will follow, probably the following month. Am I right in thinking that I will now have to go to London to have a medical (which I didn't have to do if we were travelling together). And do spouses have to have chest x-rays? Without going into too much detail, I have recently had major surgery which was performed partly to avoid the need for anymore chest x-rays.
Thanks in advance !

I just went through the medical process in Houston and I had a Chest X-ray taken. My wife did not. She only had to have a blood test.

Chest x-rays are a pretty standard diagnostic tool for any one of a myriad of possible conditions (muscular, skeletal, pulmonary, viral, bacteriological etc). I am not aware of any surgery that would negate the need for any and all future chest x-rays.
So I wouldn't be too worried if you do happen to need a chest x-ray as part of a medical check-up - you will undoubtedly need to undergo a number of chest x-rays in future (unless you are blessed with absolutely 100% perfect health for the rest of your life).
According to the US National Heart, Lung and Blood Insute, "Chest x-rays are the most common x-ray test used to diagnose health problems."
I would guess that I have had on avee, at least one chest x-ray a year for the last ten years, usually for different medical reasons each time.

o
I have written to you by private e-mail but the answer is YES in the UK - and it would have to be at the agent/doctor in London you will be contacted by the agent to make the necessary arrangements for you to fly to London etc.
I will also be sending you up to date information on the other questions you have asked will try and send by tomorrow.
Good luck for now Carolina
