When you go back to the US, do you use your SIM from Mobily/STC or have you found a good way to get a SIM in the US w/o a contract?

When you travel to the US you can get a pay as you go SIM card without much trouble. I use a T-mobile SIM card in the US and as long as you purchase a certain amount, I think it is $100, you can even keep the number between visits. You only pay for the time you use when you are there, or an unlimited service paid for one month which is often cheaper.
To make it easier, I use a Google Voice number for my US services and link whatever cell number I am using to this number. This makes it much easier for people to reach you at the same number each time.

Good idea. Just a heads-up, I put in a request for Google Voice yesterday, seems it is by invitation only and the message said it may take a few weeks and it is only for NA. However, not sure if I will get invitation. May have to request someone in NA to do it, I guess.

For those who do travel to the US, the Google Voice option works really well. I use them and a prepaid T-mobile SIM card; if you put a $100 payment on the card (and keep the balance above zero) you can control when you get billed for the services and retain your phone number. I use a monthly service option that gives me 5Gb of data for 30 days and I decided when I want to use it (i.e. I don't pay every month). If you are in need of a google voice invitation, just PM me and I can help you with that.
The other roaming option I use is that my vonage phone can ring multiple numbers, including cell phones. This allows me to talk for free from KSA and I can carry the adapter when I travel, allowing me to travel with my phone number too.
Between these two services, I've found the telecom issues easy to resolve.
