Hi Folks,
Since I will be brining my truck, Dodge Ram 1500, with me, I was wondering if there are good mechanics in Dhaharan? Do you normally take it to a local mechanic shop or dealership? Is it worth going to Baharain for better service if indeed that is the case?

In Dhahran we have a do it yourself facility with mechanics who help you do your own work, or do work for you. We use them, they are pretty good. There are mechanics in Khobar and Dammam also. I personally don't know anyone who has to go to Bahrain for car work.
This is new! Expats previously have not been able to bring pickup trucks. Are you certain you can bring yours?

Have a friend with a Chrysler, and they get great service in Bahrain!
And expats can now own pickups here???

We have a Dodge 4 x 4 car - not a pick up - my husband once tried Dharhan and was not at all happy so the next time which was our big service we went to Bahrain and they were simply excellent well worth the drive there and back for the day - we will go there again for the next service.

Carolina, for a major service I think I will do that. I already found couple of Dodge dealers in Manama, Bahrain. Thanks for your input!

It is my understanding that expats are not allowed to own pickup trucks (?) If this is still true (or ever was), then maybe you will not be able to import your Dodge Ram. Maybe get in touch with the import company that you are planning to use to confirm.

If everything goes ok and you are allowed to ship over your Dodge Pick up - once you arrive here you can always write us a PM and my husband will give you the full details of the gae we use - they are very good also with their prices and speak fluent English and simply highly efficient.
