I'm moving to Dhahran on December 30th. I just have a few questions:
1) Are blankets provided? I used to be in KSA a few years ago and I remember that it's cold in the night in this season. My intention is to limit things in my luggage and buy them in KSA as much as possbile.
2) Is it easy to have a permanent internet connection before getting iqama?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Groom75 and congrats on your relocating to Aramco.
1 - Yes, you will have a duvet and sheets provided when you arrive at your house
2 - You will be given an internet dongle at the airport when you arrive by the arrivals rep and this will provide you with internet for the first couple of weeks. Once you have your work log in ID which you should get on your first day in the office you can then request ADSL broadband for your home. This will usually take up to 2 weeks to install so be prepared to have to rely on the dongle for that time. You can request dial up within a few days of arriving at your house but I didn't bother as the dongle was fine for the first couple of weeks. Just don't use Skype on the dongle or your credit will run out quickly
Hope that helps.

Not quite - after you get your logonid you then need a SAP CRM account, in order to submit the ADSL request using that system. Your Dept Computer Security Liaison (CSL) should be able to get you a SAP CRM account on the same day you get your logonid - which is usually, but not always, on your first day.
Alternatively, your Dept CSL may be able to submit the request on your behalf, if they are so inclined.

On airport the line for foreign national was too long and not moving, but they told me to move to counter 3 (I think) which said Business visitors (male/female). Was relatively quick. Week day so about 30 minutes out. Dongle – worked fine at DH. But heard from other people in orientation for other locations RT/AQ, did not work well or hardly worked. I have used most of 1G on skype in 3 days. Need to buy 5G for 100 SR. however need to find location where to get it. Got home phone working and also got STC Sim at end of orientation

The Mobily dongle performed very poor at Ras Tanura. I had to sit outside to make it work, and even then it was painfully slow. But hey, I could check my mail!
