Many thanks to all who have contributed to this amazing forum - is has been invaluable to me as I 'patiently' await notification of my departure date. As a single female I hope to integrate into the community of Dhahran and wonder if anyone could advise me on how best to do this.

Once you arrive you'll be given an orientation. During orientation you'll be shown where the Community Services Office is in the Al Mujamma building. While in that office pick up a copy of all the self-directed groups and a copy of the weekly Arabian Sun by the post office desk. These will give you activities going on. Also as you fill out your paperwork, join SAEA (Saudi Aramco Employee Association) for a small monthly fee. You'll get all the activities and trips they plan and you can enjoy. Look at the bulletin boards in this building, it will have many of the current events going on listed.
This will help you get started on what you'd like to do.
Going to the ladies' gym will also allow you to meet other women.
