Hi everyone,
I recently arrived in Dhahran (and have to say I love it so far!) but the only problem I have at the moment is that I would really like to get hold of a moped/scooter to get about on. The buses are fine but I would like the freedom to drive around camp without having to wait for a bus.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of one either on-camp or in Khobar/Dammam area?
Thanks everyone and once I get my internet at home connected properly I look forward to helping others who are in the position I was a few months back with their questions.

Majestic has a car rental stand in the Majamma (sp) building that does cars for just around the camp. I am not sure what it cost but it might be worth looking into.

Once you have your company internet user name and password, go to the classifieds in HR online and you may find one for sale.
For new ones, you can take a majestic taxi to the Yamaha Store (864-1925), Honda Store (857-4730 also have 859-1962), Harley Shop (Motorcycles, used to have KTM, could have a used/new scooter in the back- 859-1608) and the driver or the Majestic office manager may know where else scooters are sold. I remember years ago seeing a scooter store somewhere in Khobar as well. I've many times gone to the Majestic office, gotten a taxi and asked them to take me to where ...whatever..... was sold.
You could have a taxi pick you up since you might not be able to get to the office.
Majestic would be a better choice than Samara since their drivers are much newer and don't always know where things are.

The other thing to do is have someone ask their houseboy/maid where they get their scooters.

Thanks Vpainter - that's extremely helpful. I have managed to source one on camp as a temporary loan and will be buying a new one soon. Will post an update on how I get on for those wanting to get hold of one.
I don't drive so this is the only option for me getting around camp without relying on the buses.

hi aramco 2012 i am wan, today is my 14th day in aramco and kingdom. i am currently looking for any used/second handed scooters/motorcycle. how and where did you find that temporary scooter?

If you work at Aramco already, you can access the Aramco Classifieds online - through the HR online hotspots. This site is only accessible by Aramco employees.

What is the process to get two wheeler licence in saudi? If you have GCC licence if two wheeler, can it be converted to satisfy one easily?
