I got some good info on what to bring on the forum thank you, though I have taken cash in lieu. Seems I still have some question and would appreciate any help.
Bed dimensions - typically what sizes and how many – I am getting 3 bed house in DH, Curtains – do houses come with some blinds or curtain to start with?
Thank you.

Ikea's got some good beds and quality matresses in all dimensions. I bought one of 180 x 200cm. There's an Ikea in Dhahran, but bear in mind that transportation might take a while: I was surprised that the TNT transport agency had a delivery queue of 3 weeks! However, you could usually bargain with some of the guys on the outside to arrange immediate transport for you.

There are some things I regret not having with me right now. Bring the reusable shopping bags if you are worry about the environment. Since Christmas is around the corner bring some decorations, presents for the family and teachers. If your kids birthdays are coming soon bring everything you may need for a party. You may not have a car in a while and not being able to shop around.
There are a lot of options for furniture here. I like City W and IKEA. It depends of what you like. you may be able to find every electronic you want here.

Houses do have curtains and sometimes shades on the windows. If for any reason they don't you call furniture warehouse and have curtains delivered. Our house had curtains downstairs and shades upstairs when we arrived.
Beds your house may have in it when you arrive are Queen, Double or Twin.
Kids rooms usually have twin beds. Master bed used to be Doubles, but when I was at furniture warehouse they told me they have some queens now. We had a double and then had an additional twin delivered and put them together. Others have had furniture warehouse take the double back and give them two twins to push together until you buy one you'd rather have.
Your house will have a blanket for each bed, a pillow for the twins, two for the double or queen and a set of sheets. (Sheets are hit and miss though, could get a set of sheets, could get two flat sheets for each, or we received 1 flat sheet each - LOL)
There are several mattress shops in Khobar: Mattress World, King Koil, and Sealy. And as stated Ikea has beds also. The taxis on camp can take you to their shops or a person who you work with can take you around, just let them know what you need.
If you need more furniture after you arrive, you can go to furniture warehouse and pick out what you need; they have a notebook full of pictures of all the furniture available - we needed desks for the kid's rooms and additional bedside tables.

Our 'Holiday decorations' made it through customs in our household shipment. Chances are best if they are not overtly religious, but there are no guarantees.
