o Everyone My husband just arrived in Ras Tanura on Friday and we have a daughter who will be going to the middle school when we get to RT, probably in December or January. We have to decide soon which school we will enrol her, so any comment/feedback about school would be greatly appreciated. I have a few questions that i hope someone would be able to help us: 1.Do the children that live in RT MUST go to the school in RT. 2. If they could go to Dharhan/Khobar/Dammam which school would you recommend. 3. Is there a school bus from/to RT compound that take children to Dharhan/Khobar/Dammam schools. I spoke with your husband last night and my husband and I gave him a lot of information so hopefully by now he will have talked with you.
For what it is worth and because of your daughter's age she would be much better to go to school here in RT that way she will be able to integrate with other children here age and settle down here quicker.

Here are my two cents to your inquiry: 1.Do the children that live in RT MUST go to the school in RT. It is not compulsory to send the children to Saudi Aramco Schools (SAS). Depending on your payroll Aramco may even pay the tuition fee if you decide to send your children to a private school say in Dhahran. Please note that SAS provide an American curriculum for Grades K4-9 for expatriate employees of Saudi Aramco. It enjoys an excellent reputation for its quality educational program, professional staff, student achievement, supportive parents, excellent facilities, and company support. Almost all the parents I know from USA are sending their children to SAS. There are some families for example from UK who prefer to educate their children based on English National Curriculum. These families are sending their children to schools in Dhahran/Khobar. 2. If they could go to Dharhan/Khobar/Dammam which school would you recommend. International Schools Group in Dhahran. Their website is www.isgdh.orgFor UK national please select Dhahran British Grammar School. 3. Is there a school bus from/to RT compound that take children to Dharhan/Khobar/Dammam schools. There is a bus provided by Aramco that takes children to the school mentioned above in item #2. From RT it leaves around 6:15 am in the morning. Children are back around 4:00 pm. Dhahran Middle and High school are also located at the same premises. For any other school you need to check with the school for school bus. Welcome to RT. |

I so appreciate your input on this one as we do not have small children here and thankfully what I advised Rona's husband was more or less on the same information but this will help her a lot when she arrives to RT.
We know them and they are a very nice family.
