o, have any Canadians who applied for their visa after Sept 1st received it yet? If yes, how long did it take? We are into our 30 days of waiting and I am wondering if the new process really is taking 30 days or if it's more.

I have not applied for a visa recently. The last Canadian visa I applied for (early 2011) was completed within 2 weeks. Once you receive your approval, you will then go to a Canadian agent for consular services. I have used both Lewis Bridges and Dupont (twice) and MSQ visa enterprises (once). If time is important, do not use LBD - the one person they have to do visa processing, is not great (mistakes and poor communication). MSQ got me out of a jam (processed visa in same afternoon) and they seem to have the right connections (though a little more expensive) and are great to deal with. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply DGC00, but I'm looking for Canadians who had their visas applied for them by Aramco since September 1st, 2011. We were told that a change in policy was put in place then and all Canadian visas would take 30 days to process. Our relocation adviser got in touch with the consulate in Ottawa and was told our visas would be released/returned soon. So we're at day 33 and still waiting.

Yes, this is different. Previously you apply/get approved in KSA and then have visa placed in passport in Canada. Please update the board with your experience when you get your visas - it sounds like I may need to plan for more time on my next visitor visa. Good luck and I hope you get yours in time.

Hopefully you are already in the Kingdom.
How long it took you to get the visa? I am waiting and my one is being applied 40 days earlier and my wife & kid are now on 30 days.
If you let us know how many days it took for you to get the visa that will be great.
