I am interested in knowing if anyone has previously been granted a medical clearance with a previous back surgery. Two years ago, I had a Microdiscectomy surgery at L5 (S1 & S2) for a herniated disc. I made a complete and full recovery and have zero mobility issues now. Has anyone reading this been through this (or know anyone who has) with a successful outcome (medical clearance granted)?

cut/paste from previous post: "Aramco, like any insution, does not seem to have hard and fixed rules on what medical problems are allowable and which are not. It would seem that, depending on the needs of a particular department and the overall strength of the applicant, waivers would be granted to some and not others for the same conditions. Frankly no one here can accurately predict what medical conditions will be accepted and which will be rejected."
If you read these boards you will see anecdotes of people being hired with diabetes (arguably more than a minor condition) while others have been declined employment over old minor surgeries. Thus, again, like any company, Aramco likely looks at what you offer the company and not just simply what is on your medical report.

Medical issues are at the discretion of the Aramco Doctor looking over your medical records. Exceptions can be made if the department wanting the employee grants a waiver. Just like Rama posted, some people have been rejected, others accepted without any issues - both with the same disease or condition in their medical history.
Sorry, no one can give you an answer to this question. You can send in more reports if you're rejected, this has worked sometimes. Sometimes a person has applied for a different job, different group and gotten accepted. Others have had no recourse. No one can say.
