During the last 9 months I have spent a lot of time reading posts on this forum. I appreciate the time people take to respond to all the questions. In my case I thought it will be useful for people to get a sense of the timing of how things move during the application process. Needless to say extreme level of patience is required to join Aramco. For me I am not sure if I still have it.
Interview process began in Feb with me heading to the job fair. I was excited about the prospect of a job at Aramco. Thinking at the most it will take 2-3 months to move if i get the job. I wasn't right by a long margin.
A couple of months later I heard that I was going to be called for a second interview. I was hopeful again. After the interview I was called to let me know I would be getting an offer. I finally received the offer and responded back which commenced the BI/ Medical / Visa process, which is still in process. I am having serious doubts if this is the right decision - if the hiring process is this slow I am not sure how the work life will be..even though I was looking forward to laid back - this is just another level of laid back.
I understand these things take time but I was expecting a reasonable time frame. I just don't know if its worth going half way across the world to be further disappointed. I even stopped searching for jobs after the Aramco offer. Had I know this was going to take 6 months... anyways. I have had a change of heart. I don't think its worth it when you know from the start you won't progress in your job even though you may know more than your boss. It's one thing to promote local people but these guys have taken it to another level. I would rather work hard and make a name for myself here than choose the easy life but obviously this is not for everyone.
