Hi everyone,

Looking for advice on where in Dhahran area to find good old plant fertilizer, like MiracleGro or Hyponex for houseplants, herbs and possibly outdoor plants. Didn't see any at HyperPanda or SACO. Also, advice welcome regarding container gardening of tomatoes and herbs, flowers. When to start seeds indoors, considerations for outdoors, etc. Noticed a (welcome) shift in the weather this week. New here, would like advice from any green thumbs out there regarding dos and don'ts, viability, etc. :-) Thanks!

The commissary usually carries a soluble fertilizer. I've never seen Miracle Grow here. The Garden Group will open in Oct. Usually plants are put in late Sept to early Oct. So start your plants indoors to be transplanted then - I've found October to be the best time.

You'll find there's quite a bit of trial and error here with gardening. It will depend on how your yard is with regards to the sun. I've found certain spots in my yard are better for keeping plants alive than others according to how much sun that spot receives each day. Too much sun and they don't do well. Some plants love the sun, others do not.

Have an enjoyable time! Gardening is fun here once you know your yard.
