Where can we find GOOD quality blinds (both horizontal and verticle). We checked out SEDAR and were not really pleased. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

o there how are you?
I found really good blinds of decent quality in Home Centre part of CentrePoint on the Corniche i.e. the largest store of Home Centre - the problem is that when you like what you need - often they may not have the correct dimensions or colour etc but worth checking them out and if for any reason they do not have what you need in stock ask them to call around the Kingdom to all the other Home Centre stores and they will do that for you and hopefully be able to complete your order - they did this for me and I was most impressed.
I know that the shop IKEA some of their items can be cheap and nasty but having said that I also got fairly good blinds and curtains from them as well also I was very impressed with the guest double bed we bought as our guests have reported a very comfortable mattress so it is just a matter of taking the time in IKEA to sort out the good from the bad.
There are up market stores in Khobar that sell top of the range blinds but I stress they are very very expensive even for one window never mind the whole of the house.
It really depends on what your budget limit is and how many windows you need to have dressed etc.
Also I have used ZARA Home - yes expensive but just that bit different!
If I had to do this again I would simply go to Bahrain where there is far more choice etc.
Good luck Carolina

This was the first modification we made to the house as the standard-issue blue curtains weren't our style. We're in a typical 2BR+Study in the Hills.
We had verticals installed in the back, and horizontals in all other windows for SAR2200 by a curtain/blind shop in Al Khobar, Al-Johi Store on King Khalid St, First Block. Contact name is Hamed, and he is at 03-864-1050. They came and measured, and a week later installed them--the fit is perfect and the colors were to our specification. Ikea would have cost more, would not have fit, and I undoubtedly would have done a botched job without the proper tools.
