It certainly wouldn't hurt to ask Patient Relations, but most likely, someone living at RT would not be able to select a primary doctor at Dhahran. Your medical file typically stays in the community where you reside. SAMSO rules would most likely not permit this, unless you had a very compelling reason for requesting this. Not sure if they would find "I don't like any of the doctors at RT" as a compelling reason. I had to select a primary doctor for one of my dependents recently, and the system only allowed me to choose a doctor at RT, since that's where I reside. I'm fairly certain that if you reside at RT, you would be bound by SAMSO rules to select a primary doctor at RT. Again, there are always exceptions to rules here, but I think you would have to make a very convincing case to SAMSO to get permission to select a primary Dr. at DH if living at RT...say, for example, you live at RT and work in DH...perhaps they'd make an exception for this reason. If I'm wrong on this, someone please jump in here and correct me.

If you require any type of specialty doctors, then you would go to Dhahran Hospital and the specialty clinics and be given care. Specialty doctors (examples: ENT, ORTHO, EYE, etc - all specialties available) are seen through a referral from your primary doctor.
