Discussion on salary is between employee and company and not with other employees. I didnt know my co-workers salaries in Houston either (but I did know my kids teachers salary ranges)
When I get back to Houston in a couple weeks I will provide some frank and honest feedback/summary of our 3 years here. Til then, you gotta just try to decipher the code words LOL

I recently interviewed during the job fair in Houston. I was told to expect to hear something in a week. I wish I had an idea what kind of salary I could expect or if I'm even going to receive an offer. Does anybody have any insight, I read patience is the key. With that said, its easier said than done.

I know it's hard to work out if your salary is good compared to others but you really must work out if it's acceptable to your situation. I've recently seen some documentation regarding basic salary bands for each grade and the min to max of each grade is big! What you are getting paid now has a huge bearing on what you will be offered. I know 2 people who do the same job and there is something like a difference of 25% of the lowest salary. Also it seems a grade 11 could quite easily be paid more than a grade 14, but obviously with a lower chance of increasing that pay over time.

Well, for starters, I not sure how many people (unless they work in salary administration or are involved in making salary offers) have access to this information. I can honestly say that in all my time with the company, I have never seen a full table of salary ranges.
In addition to this, company policy states the following:
Now, I am not 100% sure that salary ranges are classified as "proprietary business information" but I would tend to imagine that they are. Even if I were privy to salary information (which I am not) I would certainly not be prepared to take the the gamble that they are not proprietary, and risk publishing them without authorization.
