Hi Everyone
I am slated to depart from Australia to ensure that I arrive on the last day of 2024. Just got a request to ensure that I depart by the 26th of December. Was wondering if anyone else has just received a similar request?
Also, had a look and realised that it would mean arriving on a Friday which I imagine is less than ideal for me or the person who has to meet me in terms of getting into accommodation, organising temporary pass access and just being able to move around given that the offices are closed on the weekend. Was wondering if anyone else had to arrive on the weekend and what the settling in challenges were.

Arriving on a Friday won't have any implications on being met, temporary ID and housing. Temporary ID is issued at the Aramco office within the airport at Dhahran. |

Friday seems to be the preferred arrival day for most anyway.
Sort out an esim before leaving, or else bring a spare phone and get a PAYG calls & data at the airport on arrival. STC is the national carrier and more reliable for me at least.
Transport wise you will be able to use taxis or bus to get around first few days. Dhahran is pretty well served with both.

Thursday is an off day. Followed by weekend. This gives 3 days to rest. |

Remember our weekends are Fri/sat, so it’ll only be one full day then the week starts.

I have been advised also to join no later than 26 Dec due to requisitions are only open for a year. There are some delays on my clearance and hoping to arrive by 27 Dec. Lets be in contact. Appreciate the heads up. Relieved to know that it seems to be across the organisation rather than specific to me. Was starting to wonder why the request came weeks after flights etc were confirmed. RA did ring to tell me that they were surprised by the request from HQ. Who knows what else is around the corner?

Just wondering if new arrivals are still being pushed to depart on the 26th of December or if this has been dropped if there are valid reasons.

It is fixed for new joiner to travel on 26th of December every year or depends on process timings ? What if someone is in joining from inside Saudi Arabia.

o, I was asked to arrive by 26th as well, however it was only two days earlier and I’d already made arrangements for the day I leave, as well as wanting to spend Christmas with my family and they dropped it
