Hope all are well. Am from Australia and will be arriving in Dhahran just after Christmas. Been quite a process getting hired, visa etc and am finally grappling with the enormity of the task of moving over. Situation normal from reading the forum.
Done the expat thing before, London and brief stints in Asia but from going through the forums, moving to KSA seems to be less easy than my previous moves. The removalists in Aus don't have mush of a clue and am leaning towards not shipping anything over.
No news on allocated housing and am expecting that this notification will be coming late in the piece pre departure. Hoping to get insights from any recent arrivals and also the experienced hands. Am a single male, GC 14 and work in finance (am a lowly bean counter, please don't hold it against me). RA (from Singapore) has been able to offer very few insights, appreciate any pointers anyone can offer on the following:

- Can anyone indicate where the finance function is located relative to the accommodation?
- How do people get around in the initial phase, specifically to work and back as well as out of camp to get initial items to get settled in. Went through the forum and am still not entirely sure if the buses are a reliable realistic option or is it the case that Rekab is it (in which case, how reliable)?
- Also wanting to confirm that accommodation wise, as a single male I'm pretty much certain to end up in an apartment in Mango or has anyone else in a similar situation been allocated housing elsewhere in camp?
