Shipping Vs New Purchase decision

If you have kids there will be a second bed, if just you and your wife one bed.  It's a not quite queen size and the first mattress we had was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in.  It was replaced.  You'll have a couch, dining room table and chairs, some side tables, beaurea in the bedroom etc.  In general the furnishing isn't great. I've supplemented over time as friends retire and I inherit their old furniture.  I have a camping mindset, I'm passing through and not investing in my comforts.  Other's have different approaches.

It's 220v here and everything is available, furniture, electronics, etc.

Shipping: you are allowed a one time duty and tax free shipping of personal items, new or used.

Beyond that, it's honestly a waste of time bringing over more than clothing and small items as you don't know what type of housing you have until you arrive.

I say this with experience, as antiques or high value items may age, corrode, etc with the heat, air quality, etc.
