Hi all,
I have been advised by my Visa agent that I can proceed to attend the embassy to complete biometrics and my visa will be issued a few days afterwards.
I’m now seriously considering the timing of relocation as I understand I must be in country within 90 days of the Visa being granted.
My questions atm:
1. I read some old threads (2012-2014) that mention there is some potential repat allowance benefit in starting during Q4 of the calendar year. I interpreted these discussions that if you join in Q4 you can qualify to take your repat at anytime during the following year rather than wait for the 12m anniversary (of course I realize this would be dependent on your departments workloads and supervisor alignment etc).
Is this still the policy (my policy docs do not mention it)? Is my interpretation correct? And is the benefit just flexibility of timing rather than any $value?
2. My biggest concern is leaving my family at home for a potentially extended period until their iqama is granted and can enter the Kingdom (without messing around with tourist visas).
Is there any action I can take to expedite the issuance of family members iqama before we leave? Local medicals and all visa forms have been cleared already. FYI I don’t require any engineering certification.
What is a realistic timeline from anyone as to dependents arriving from Australia?
Thanks for all your help!

If you arrive Q4, you have to wait until your 12m anniversary, but if you start Q1 the following year, you'll have to wait until the following year, regardless you need to wait until your 12m anniversary for repat, but it is very beneficial, also if you start Q4, you'll be enled to a payrise the following July. Best thing you can do for the dependents iqama process is have everything ready to go when required, the day after I got my iqama, I submitted my yellow slip pack for translation at alfifa. The day I got my email that my yellow slip pack was ready, I went straight to absher and booked an appointment at Istiqadam office for the yellow slip the next day. I got my dependents yellow slip and passports stamp in 6 weeks, it's entirely possible it can be done quicker. You just need to remind your boss you have to make the appointments, especially if they haven't supervised/managed expats before.

We were one month and would have been faster if things hadn’t landed on a Thursday. It is doable, providing you are all in order and proactive.

Since you don't need SCE registration, assume 4-5 weeks for your family to join you.

Shukran You'll need to register with Saudi Council of Engineers before receiving your iqama. It only takes a few days recently.

Last week one guy applied on Friday and its application was approved on Saay.. on other side, I have seen people waiting for as long as three weeks. You don't need any specific paperwork apart from educational degree. Check my link and download the guide drive.google.com/file/d/15gFjsCmOcBUNd23rACdD95bF1pRPe2yi/view?usp=drivesdkDon't start the process before arriving here. And use only ksa mobile number.
