I've heard that getting an interview can be a lengthy process and that "persistence and patience" are essential when applying. How many times did you apply, and over how many years?
Does having a referral from a current employee help when applying for a job? Of course, you should still apply online or through a recruiter, but does an inside referral carry any weight? Or is it irrelevant?
