When you apply for a job does it help to have an inside referral from a current employee? Of course, still apply via online or a recruiter, but is any weight given if you have an inside referral? Or does it not matter at all?
Talking about a corporate position - higher up that is being applied for.

Depends - This is very much case by case situation. Really, depends how much of the ear and influence the inside person has on the hiring manager(s). How close your qualifications and experience match the job and compeiveness against other applicants obviously carries more weight then knowing someone on inside. This applies to any job or company.

Once an interview has been conducted, if someone can vouch for you with an interviewer, that's as far as it can go.
