Offer on hold due to audit

Hi

I've been offered a role and have completed and passed my background check. I was given a visa medical date. This was then cancelled due to a business audit which resulted in a temporary pause on all recruitment in the department. This was about 6 weeks ago. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone else know how long it might take for the audit to complete? I am hopeful I will still have a job offer at the end of it.
