o,
Are there any dual career couples or others out there who could give us information on the Aramco daycare for toddlers (our son is 2) and also any advice on organising a nanny? Our RA has told us that neither can be organised till we arrive in camp, but would really like to understand more about the daycare offer and also if there is any prep work regarding arranging a nanny that we can do prior to our arrival.
Many thanks.

When do you arrive?
So, what I know is you cannot do much until you are here. The nursery is a large purpose built building right in the centre, their hours will be core hours. A nanny through an agency is probably your best bet, for now. I might be very wrong but in order to sponsor one yourselves you do need to have an established balance in a local bank account and that might take a few weeks to organise. The agencies can do live on/fulltime for 3 months or longer.
Please also be aware that most departments are absolutely aware that your first few weeks are an absolute write off work wise, they know that you have a lot to sort out and family is important.

We’re arriving mid June, flights t.b.c.
So we would be able to obtain a nanny through an agency fairly soon after we arrive but sponsoring one (which I imagine is the preferable option) in the longer run is something that would take time to arrange.
Good to know that our departments will show some understanding at the start. Our son goes to daycare here but he will likely take time to settle into a new environment. The weather in particular will be a shock compared to Aberdeen!
We’ll just need to get onto the arrangements as soon as we arrive.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, once you have an iqama you can definitely contact an agency for temp until you settle. Yes, that’s our last location too, very different.
