Hi all,
Just got an email that the hiring committee would like to move forward and they asked for 3 last paystubs and filling out a 11 page security/background check (including a LOT of personal info/copy of passport/etc). Is this usual? If so, how/why are you comfortable sharing all of these before getting an offer (I live in the US and this is not usual at all)? I do not even know if they will/can beat my current salary and if I'll accept their number. Could you please let me know if this usual? Thanks a lot!
Best,

For an overseas move this is entirely usual.

Thanks a lot! Just wanted to double check. So, they perform the background check before giving any numbers/salary range? I have an competing offer and am not sure they offer significantly better to justify the move at the end. That's why I'm skeptical to share all of my life info before even knowing if they can beat the other offer.

Only time will tell if the offer is suitable for you but preparing can be months, the background can be months. They are just trying to utilise the time effectively.

12 million barrels of oil per day, one of the largest companies in the world and majority owned by the Saudi Government.
Of course they want to know all about you before hiring.
