Hi,
I have been asked to provide documents after an interview. Looks like i might move to an offer stage which will lead to a background check. Does anybody know if background checking company asks for original degree certificates or only copies?
The reason for asking is that my original documents are stored in a locker back home in my motherland. If they are required for the background check i need to arrange to get them back.

They will ask for scanned copies only. You may need to get them apostilled ( Bachelor’s /Master’s degrees)at the later stage.

You don't need to bother yourself with notarization at this stage. When it's time, your relocation assistant will get them done through an agent.

You don't need to bother yourself with notarization at this stage. When it's time, your relocation assistant will get them done through an agent. [br Now only apostilled documents are needed. No longer notarization and waste of time if one is flying from west. That saves lot of time in processing |

Credence (Background Screening Company) will only ask for copies but they will also ask you contact details of someone from your university to verify your degree.. they will ask contact details of both a professor and the examination/ admission department through which they can verify your degree.. again it might be different for you.. also good idea to get your original degrees back.. once you get the offer, for visa purpose you will need original degree which will then need to be attested by saudi embassy in the respective country.. your relocation advisor will advise you.. they normally have agents in countries who provide attestation service, you will just need to send them the original certificates
