o,
I may soon receive a job offer from Adnoc (interviews completed, awaiting final steps), and I've also been invited for an interview with Aramco. If both offers materialize and the positions are at a similar level, I would like insights on potential salary differences, benefits, work-life balance, and the experience of living in Dhahran vs. Abu Dhabi. I previously didn't consider Aramco, but forum discussions have provided valuable perspectives. Appreciate any input on these aspects from members familiar with both companies.

At Aramco you will more money, ADNOC will get you a better work life balance in a modern UAE setting. If money is the same, I would go for ADNOC. But it depends on which offer is first and or if you get both offers.

I am just curious, does ADNOC hire expatriates? If so, how should someone apply from US/Canada? Through ADNOC official website?

It seems like ADNOC will intensify its localization endeavors, leading to fewer expatriate recruits in the long run. On the other hand, Aramco might still rely on expatriates despite their efforts towards Saudization.

I have heard that salaries in ADNOC are less than Aramco. They don’t give you premium based on your nationality.

Cost of living is higher in the Emirates than in Saudi. So you tend to save more in Aramco.

Depends on the roles offered, there are still senior positions held by expats at ADNOC unlike Aramco. If it’s a like-for-like then you will get offered a bit less $ wise by ADNOC. Quality of life on Abu Dhabi vs Dhahran is night and day. Aramco are still bringing in senior roles

I worked in ADNOC and be in Middle East since 2007. UAE has better work&life balance compare to Aramco/Saudi but less T&C. It is your discretion to decide what really you want, money only or work life balance? Do not hesitate to PM me if you have any specific question about UAE and ADNOC😉.

Aramco are still bringing in senior roles Guess it depends on what you call senior! Max level in my area is GC15 which isn’t senior. There are only a few dozen left at 17+ in the whole firm. No expats in Corp/exec mgmt outside law, PR, comms, and the odd JV. The board has a few but that doesn’t have any relationship to day to day running of the firm! Just setting your expectations. I know an expat that runs a department in ADNOC, the equivalent role here would be saudized. I was part of the ADNOC group for more than 5 years. ADNOC's shareholders (Total, BP, Exxon) contribute to the workforce. More often than not, it is the top guns from these shareholders that may head a department at VP Level. You may also find thst some manager and Team leaders are expats but the structure is such that, for the manager and TLs, there is a local shadowing. The more technical a managerial role is, the safer it it is for an expat. In essence, emiritization is happening at ADNOC as well. I just have the feeling that Saudization is probably more matured than Emiritization. But Emiritization is quickly catching up. This is my observation.

No company township in adnoc unless you are in remote location They do offer great accomodation allowance, one can rent 4 rooms villa. That's a big difference in living within company township and renting one outside. All depends on type of life you need in ME. I lived in two countries in ME in company township and I must say its worth it specially for family
