Hi All,
Thank you firstly for accepting me into this forum and amazed at the vast amount of information here.
I have tried to read through as much as possible but still have some burning questions and would be grateful for some advice.
I am an Indian male in my late 30s living in Singapore and have an interview lined up with Aramco this week.
I have always wanted to work with aramco but now that it could potentially be a role in KSA, I am have lots of doubts and seek some solid guidance.
I work with an American multinational in Singapore since 2020 and lifes good here though career wise I am open to change and of course tax free money is welcome.
But moving to KSA is a big challenge and as a single male I am worried if being lonely will eventuallty wear me down.
Can someone advise if I should consider this move assuming I get the job?
I have been researching a lot on the internet and found some threads from "ex aramco expats" claiming the camp is no longer what it used to be and living there is 1 step short of depression.
If there is any single male/female who has moved there in the past 1-2 years and can give me some genuine feedback, I would be grateful.
I do not want to quit my job in Singapore for the greed of money and then live to regret it forever.
Thanks in advance

You mention you have a good career in Sinagpore, at Aramco you'll only have a job, and you'll be expected to do that job for the duration of your time here.
Expats are rarely/if ever promoted.

Hi Kyle Thanks for your reply. i say good career in SG on the basis of a vibrant lifestyle here, good colleagues but unfortunately growth in terms of desginations and money is also quite stunted, let alone high cost of living. I am aware that growth in aramco is tough too but maybe the name on my cv could help open doors in the future.

The good thing is if you can get in camp housing at Aramco, as a single male, your lifestyle could be as cheap as you want it to be.

Though from whatever i have read on housing so far, it seems bachelors are almost surely going to Mango/Mint? Not sure if you consider that as in camp housing? Also, apart from the cost factor, is it possible for a single male to socialise easily? given that most people my age would likely have families/kids/partners?

Camp is full of men in their 30s/40s on bachelor, some are single, some have family at home including ones that have had their families leave after being here for years. There is plenty of socialising if you want that, plenty of groups to join for activities.

If your Indian you might not get housing on camp, it depends on your passport. In terms of career progression it ends once you join Aramco. Housing restrictions is not only for Indian but for anyone not on global payroll. They are not automatically assigned a housing in Dhahran/RT. They need to bid for it.
