Greetings friends, First post here, I'm from India and have been given GC 11 with single status by an Armco contractor (IT dept) . I want to enquire about bringing my family on a single status visa. First off, is it possible and is there a pre approval required or is it fairly straight forward? I am informed that I will have to bear the iqama and medical insurance costs. Can anyone tell me what range is that ? I tried to looking for medical insurance plans online at bupa, al rajhi etc but couldn't get any quotes. I have 3 dependents (wife and 2 kids). Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are on single status you will find it very difficult to sponsor your family here. They will not be able to have an iqama and will have be to be on family visit visas. Not many schools will allow children on visit visa to enrol, medical insurance is almost impossible to get for visit visa.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are ways to bring them to Bahrain. It may not be Saudi, but at least you could see them every weekend. One of my friends has found a sponsor for his wife and kids there and he travels from Khobar to Bahrain every weekend.

I’m not quite how one would get a sponsor without being closely related or employed. But, I would double check your company’s exit visa rules. It’s not unheard of for some to only issue single at a time or to limit how often. You’d not want to be in that position.

It is doable - you can sponsor your family yourself, but then you have medical fees and schooling to consider. I know at least 2 SMP in the past whose family were with them. It also depends on your Iqama profession if you have the right to do this. Just be aware that there is a cost of around 7,000 SAR to yourself in dependents fee for each dependent each year.
May be possible to work thru your contractor with a change to Family status - talk to them. If it is a deal-breaker then make sure that they know this. Contractor companies in general are not very helpful, and very often are unwilling to help with anything - no matter where in the world you come from.

I have already tried negotiating with the contractor but they said what they are giving is final. Not sure if they were bluffing or not. I'm aware of the additional dependent fee, I just didn't know the medical insurance cost which is what I was looking for. Also, would I need help from the contractor to get my family visa/iqama or can I do that myself?

@mohamad123
I have limited knowledge but Sharing based on my information
dependiant fee is 4800 Riyal/year/dependent + iqama fees is 650 riyal/year/dependent + medical.
I am also on single status but haven't reached saudi yet. I expect COMPANY to support you with family thing as you will be handling all the fees.
Are you SMP and under which contractor?
