Hi, can anyone from UK who did addmission in the Aramco school in the compound shed some light on the vaccination requirement and how to fulfill or fight it?
I have been asked to get following vaccination for my 4.5 years old son for addmission in school -
Hep A
Varicella (ChickenPox)
Men ACWY
Hep A - it seems to be a travel related vaccination and can be arranged with a travel Clinic I guess but is it really required for KSA?
Varicella - This is only given in UK to kids who are close to vulnerable patients, eg - chemotherapy etc
Men ACWY - Men B and C are already given at this age but the Men ACWY is given to kids in years 9 and 10 (around 10 years of age).
Would i have to get these done privately - any experience with this process will help me immensely. I do not want to give any unnecessary and not age-appropriate vaccination to my little boy.
Thanks in advance.

If you choose to have the kids here and retain the family unit prepare upfront. Get as much done before you come here, getting kids into school is complex and you don’t want a situation where there are no spaces (this is very common), of you get refused because of some b procedural point that often happens here.
It took us a month to get our kids into the Aramco school as their “vaccination” requirements differed from what my children had in England. Despite the fact they had all of them before, the school had a “my way or the highway” approach that meant lots of stress and pointless arguments with faceless jumped up bureaucracy.
We were even recommended against any basic medical guidance to give my 5-year old son the TDAP, despite it not being approved for kids under 7 years old..Literally a dangerous thing to do and totally unethical. Apparently some parents did this to their kids which I find astonishing. And all despite the fact he had a full course of immunisations, including DTaP before coming here, plus chicken pox, hep A and B as I tried to prepare.
For anyone who encounters this situation, seek a waiver from the outset. Don’t try to follow the CDC schedule for vaccinations already given, it’s both potentially dangerous and unnecessary as per my GPs guidance. Unfortunately I received no help from my management or HR in getting any of this done.
The kids now though are very happy in that school and I have only good things to say about it, but the process was a nightmare.
