Hi Everyone,
I wanted to check if Saudi Engineering Council Registration (SEC) is required for the Visa Stamping? My RA is asking to get yourself registered first before send the passport and other documents for visa stamping? Is this a new requirement now?

It’s required for the Iqama, and from what we’ve seen it is a slow process at times. Months. And in that time you cannot bring your family, open a bank account, buy a car, register properly for the health insurance. So, it’s actually in your favour to do it before, far more efficient use of time if it’s alongside the BI etc.

I thought you need some visa number (or something) to progress registration with SEC, as per advised by my RA. Anyone recently experienced SEC registration - timescales?

You can do it online anytime based on the passport information. Make sure your Aramco Contract is attested from Chamber of commerce and degree is also attested from Saudi Consulate and Culture. It should not take more than a day to get the registration. |
