I was scheduled for HireVue Live interview today.
I joined the interview. Before the panel was included, one of the members quickly had one on one with me and highlighted that my Bsc. (Hons) degree may not be accepted by ministry for visa. He thought the (Hons) mean Honorary. I told him specifically that this is not the case and I had sent my transcripts to the ASC recruiters as they requested. My degree was done in parallel with my Chartered Accountancy (UK). Exams of Chartered Accountancy were counted towards my degree too.
I am surprised if the ASC even had a proper look at the profile before forwarding. It clearly felt like big disconnect between ASC staff and the interview panel and their lack of knowledge about the degree.
At the end the guy said they are going to check with HR and will reschedule interview (if all is OK) and wait for a response by next week.
Is this for real? I was quite disappointed how this was dealt.
-- Interview for: Controllers dept. -- ASC asked for filled forms and degree certificate, degree transcripts before the interview. -- Submitted all docs and asked if they need anything else. (No response) -- I have BSc. (Hons) in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University (b) Chartered Accountancy (UK) and CPA (Canada). -- I am Canadian national.
Do let me know if forum members faced the same ever. I am feeling quite disappointed. I prepped for the interview really well. They may just throw my resume in the bin just because of confusion at their end.

Sorry that happened to you. Ignorance on his part for not knowing the difference between an honorary degree and honors degree or degree with honors. Hopefully, it will get straightened out and they will interview you again. The interviewer owes you an apology.

Unfortunately what you have experienced is quite common, often those doing the interviews aren’t particularly qualified to interview! Aramco has done lots of internal training on this, there were law suits in the past because of such behaviours. Put your case in writing to the recruiting team and hope for the best.

Law suit won't work - Aramco Overseas is an arms-length company and not directly related to Saudi Aramco.
