Hi everyone I hope Someone might be able to clarify some of the tax things for me as I find it so confusing. My husband is due to go to KSA by end of year but myself and the children for various reasons won’t be able to join until autumn next year and then me and the children would spend maybe 4/5 months back in the U.K. over summer with various family if we can (I have very young children so no school requirements yet). We have decided because of this to keep our house and not rent out atm. How does this affect our tax status and also me living here affect my husbands tax status? Can he still count as non resident/ not paying tax here as long as he’s spent a whole tax year away and if he comes back to visit us in our family home in that time does this cause any issues or if he needs to send me across any money ? I do have my own income so hopefully wouldn’t need to do that but just ok case. Thank you in advance.

For the purpose of tax your husband must be employed & normally resident outside of the UK. He is not allowed more than 90 days in the UK per year. First and last year's can be counted as partial years for non- residence, but he must be non-resident for at least an entire tax year in addition.
As to yourself you will be taxed on any income you have in the UK if it exceeds the tax threshold (although that should not include money sent to you by your husband) Likewise in future if you rent the house that income will be liable to income tax.
There is a requirement once your husband goes to family status that you must be in Saudi for 180 days per calender year. Given the June-August weather many families keep the house at home and will decant for the hottest months.
Judging by your circumstances - talk to a tax advisor to put your mind at rest and avoid any unexpected issues. HMRC may well deem your UK income taxable even once you move to Saudi.
