Yes, this is unusual for aramco to pursue someone over 60 due to the mandatory retirement of 60 by Saudi government, which I know Aramco can go around with the proper approvals.
The only reasoning I can come up with why Aramco is pursuing your husband (assuming they know he is over 60) is it a highly critical skill and experience that is hard to find that your husband has and Aramco needs it.
I know aramco hires individuals at 55 and maybe a little older sometimes and give individuals extensions if they reach 60 while employed here (but extensions are not handed out lightly or difficult to get and usually given only at one year extensions at time). If your husband pursues and receives an offer, I would advise get in writing that Aramco would grant him 5 years or at least 3 of employment before requiring an extension approval process - barring a big reduction in work force due to economic or other reasons and assuming good performance by him unless he’s fine working under one year extensions each year?
I assume it will come out with recruiter and/or during interview how SA will handle the mandatory retirement age issue as it is the elephant in the room.

Within my area there is an active aversion to hiring expats over 55. If you’ve got this far then they must be interested, as others have said, get written assurances they won’t just bin things the moment you arrive.
