I received an offer in Jeddah, but can't find any information on the compound, lifestyle or schools. Is anyone based out of Jeddah that can shed some light on these? Thanks in advance.

We’re also moving to Jeddah in October. I found some non-Aramco compounds like Sharbatley Village and Saudia City. We are the first people that our relocation advisor has worked with that are moving to Jeddah so getting answers is pretty slow-going. Have you found out anymore information about housing allowance? Any other general information? TIA

From memory, housing allowance is 3.5 months base salary (non-receipted). Where the actual accommodation cost is more than 3.5 time base you must provide receipts for the amount to be replayed in full - One of the reasons Dhahran and Dammam compounds were so expensive in the past.
Don't even consider trying to defraud by submitting dodgy receipts - instant dismissal if it gets caught.
Verify with your RA advisor exactly what the system is now as I haven't looked at the HR manual for some years in this respect.

They told me it was 3x base salary with no mention of receipts. How long ago was this? And is your 3.5x based on a GC13 offer? Really curious. Like I said - I haven't looked at the HR manual in that respect for some time. If they say 3* base salary then I guess that's correct.
Receipts are only required if your rental is above the 3* base - again I'm not sure of thee exact details these days.

Thanks. It looks like it may have changed since there no mention of receipts in the allowance or offer. It looks like they are tightening their belts. Have you cleared background check, etc? I still haven't accepted the offer yet, still a little hesitant. We would be moving from the US. Where are you moving from? And how long does it take from acceptance to arrival in Kingdom? We’re also moving to Jeddah in October. I found some non-Aramco compounds like Sharbatley Village and Saudia City. coyotep - Yes, we accepted the GC13 offer and it appears we have cleared background and medical because we were asked to go ahead and send in our passports and marriage license for our visas. We are from the US, our RA told us the process can be faster here because there is a consulate in Houston that pushes things through more quickly. Visas are issued within 3 days and are good for 90 days. We will be traveling in October. We found out we will onboard in Dhahran for a couple days before they send us to Jeddah. Glad you got info about the housing allowance, that’s one piece of information we couldn’t seem to get cleared up.

May I ask what position you are going for and what your experience level is? I am so torn about going and can't come to a decision lol. Would be good to get someone's perspective from a similar background
