Hi, I am a PE/RE as well. I had my interview by the end of May this year. A month later, when I asked about my results, I was told that I was also marked as a backup candidate. I asked my recruiter what it meant and was told that "the hiring department is considering you as one of the shortlisted candidates for the role. They have, however, not made a final decision. Once they do, I will let you know." I am just continuing to wait.

I got the offer in the first week of Jan. I have cleared all the contingencies and got the visa. I intend to travel in the last week of April.
