Hi all, arriving in Saudi soon to start in Dhahran,
In terms of sports and golf in particular, can you join the club mid-year and is it worthwhile landing with golf clubs in tow?
Also in terms of sports in general, besides golf are there many outdoor options?

Hi,
Thanks for asking this - was just about to ask the same question! I have accepted verbal offer with Aramco and think will be based in Dhahran too although still have all the BI to do etc.
Would be keen to join the golf club and also interested to know more about cycling as have a road/gravel bike and MTB. Understand the roads are quite dangerous so wanted to know what is available for cyclists..?
Lastly also keen on sailing/windsurfing/wingfoiling. Have read that you need to buy a boat in order to join sailing club (not sure if this is true?). Is there anywhere to rent/borrow watersports equipment or clubs available for windsurfing/wingfoiling?

Should be able to join the golf club mid season. Golf buggy will be a necessity also.
As to cycling - I wouldn't venture out of camp but do a Google maps search to see the size of Dhahran camp. It is big, big enough to allow you to cycle roads at least.

Do you know if there are Padel tennis courts in the Hills? I can see from google maps there are some in Jebel Heights? Thanks
