Dear Aramco Expats who are already in KSA,
I just submitted my medical tests and medical health questionnaires to get the visa and final approval from Aramco. I was informed there is a high likelihood that I could be departing to KSA within the next 30 days which I was looking forward to very much.
Based on your actual experience, is this too optimistic or realistic timeline? What has your experience been like? Also, are there situations after you submitted health questionnaire, that you will be asked to do more tests such as stress test, cardio test, etc. or to submit more medical history report, etc?
I need to know a realistic timeline so I can plan ahead to make preparation right here at home before I fly out to KSA (e.g. fixing the house, sell the car, etc). Thanks.

That sounds about right, the last bit is relatively fast but you do occasionally hear of visas being on hold. No way to plan for that. That’s out of everyone’s control.
Never come across medical being questioned, you pass or not. There will be another one here for your iqama.
We sorted the house in the run up, I did what was left after he’d flown out, closer to my departure because we had the time. He sold his car before he left, I sold mine just before I did. But we have left cars for family/friends to sell before now.
I don’t know if you are planning to bring family when you arrive but camp is very quiet until school starts in August. Everyone is going home for extended breaks, the groups and clubs are on recess.

Thank you very much for the reply. I planned to go there first and family will arrive 2 months later.
I also ran into an article posted by relocation advisor on silkroad portal: "Your progress, key relocation milestone" that made me confused about timeline. In it says: "medical health questionnaire. At this time, processing for the questionnaire can take between two and four weeks from the date of submission". and I know that only after all is cleared, will they issue visa for departure into KSA. Is this article trying to be (very) conservative on timeline and does not reflect actual experience on the ground? Therefore, the 30 day timeline quoted by relocation adviser is still realistic based on what you experienced? Any views?
thanks, JH

Ours took about a week. Maybe slower in the US.

Medical is not the last hoop, the last hoop is your visa. The visa can your departure to be delayed anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. I understand how incredible frustrating it is not having a firm direction are you one month out or three months out, but as is always said, everyone's case is unique.

I was not aware that is the case. So in your opinion the 30 day wait may not materialize? Thnx

As I recall I cleared medical in August but didn't get my visa until October of my hire year. The only thing you can rely on being on time with Aramco and the kingdom is your paycheck. Everything else is Insh.
