o everyone,
First of all I would like to thank all contributors for their valuable input, I find this forum very helpful.
I have been interviewed on 13th March and after one week I received an email from the recruiter stating that my interview was good and the panel would like to recommend me for a hire and an offer approval process will start once I complete some of my missing documents. The recruiter said that the offer should come after 6-8 weeks. Two days ago ,March 9th, I emailed the recruiter for an update about the offer, he replied back saying I should wait for the offer to be processed as it usually should take 3-4 weeks, I emailed back the recruiter saying that it has been 7 weeks since our last communication, then he sent an email saying if the offer is not delivered up to this point it means that I am considered for this role and hiring manager has considered someone else as the primary candidate and I have been put as a back up, I explicitly explained to the recruiter that , according to his email, I should expect an offer coming between 6-8 weeks but he kept insisting on the fact that as long as an offer has not been delivered till now I am not the primary candidate anymore. Is this normal? am I missing something?

It can take 3+ months for an offer. Particularly if you factor in that half of the time you’ve waited so far was Ramadan and Eid when not much happens. The recruiter has no power here, and probably not many answers. It’s just a patience game.

Thank you tamsin. It was clear to me that the recruiter was guessing based on experience and he did not investigate the status of my application on the system as his responses were prompt, I could be wrong thought.

Have to bear in mind that they said 6-8 after your documents went in. So you need to knock off that time, plus you’re only at 7.

Hi tamsin. My documents were submitted on the same day. Agree I still have time but what the recruiter told really caused confusion. As you said I will be patient.

Hi, I had an interview 3 months ago. No update since then or even a rejection. The recruiter told me she is still waiting for any update. Does this seem normal? How can I get an update?

Extremely normal as you will see from previous posts over the last 10 plus years.
The recruiter will have no update for until he or she hears from Aramco in KSA, which could be weeks to months.

The fact is everyone’s experience is different from applying to interviewing to getting hired or rejected. Yes, it wouldn’t surprise me if you were told “offer is coming to no never mind you’re the backup candidate now”. Although a little unprofessional and frustrating on your part, like any other company Aramco/hiring manager has the right to change its mind on an offer. Same thing sort of happen to me and I was eventually hired.
The common thread through everyone’s hiring experience is it’s a long 6 to 12 month process from application to landing in KSA, if you’re eventually successful, with weeks to months of silence along the way.

There is no "Normal". From Interview to hire could be as little as 6 weeks or 6 months or more by the time all of interested parties sign off. Until that point your recruiter can do nothing.

Thank you jrs and BlueStaff for your answers.
I agree with you that hiring manager can change his/ her mind at any stage of the process but was expecting the recruiter to know about the new decision, it sounded to me the recruiter was guessing as he was always replying with if statements e.g. if you don't hear from the relocation team then you're not the primary candidate anymore. I would have thought the recruiter would know by looking at the system but, apparently recruiters don't have answers unless they are provided with ones.

I sometimes wonder if the amount of time it takes, the no news or contact isn’t part of the sorting process. Things are slow here, patience, waiting for people to get back to you is very much part of the overall experience.

Hi..Thanks to everyone since this forum is very resourceful regarding Aramco.I had my interview done in Mumbai on 7th Feb through Jerry Varghese for SAOO departement.I was technically cleared by Aramco team.on the same day Saudi Aramco HR interacted with me and gave me the verbal offer.I am chasing with Jerry Varghese for more than 3 Months but reply I am getting is there is no feedback from HR side.I know three more candidate who are on the similar boat like me.Initially JV mentioned that because of Ramadan there is delay. But Ramadan is over and we are still awaiting for the offer.can the people shade the light what can be the probable reason for dalay.Should we be optimistic for getting the offer.Do Aramco ask candidate to join in batches?
