I am truly confused about the recruitment process and seeking to find perhaps someone with similar experience.
I attended a face to face interview in November last year. The panel was made up of senior members of the team from Saudi Arabia.
In January I was asked to provide consent for background checks which I did and in the same month I received notification that my educational qualifications were being verified.
In the same January I got a call from one of the recruitment team in the U.K. asking me to send a copy of my professional certificate as stated on my cv which I did. On that call I was told that the hiring team were very impressed with the interview and would be making me an offer.
In April my educational verification was completed successfully as I was informed by the background checking team.
I have since chased all the people that I have spoken with at one point or the other in the U.K. office seeking an update .... silence.
A few weeks ago I received another email from a member of the team in the U.K. asking a specific question on my cv and my work background ... it was about whether I had a mix of contracting and full time role which i answered in the affirmative. I asked if I could have an update ..... silence.
Is this normal practice in the recruitment process?

This is exactly what I went through after having interviewed in Nov - all those background check consents and education verification consents and then there was a period of silence and I kept on asking but never got any response. However in March suddenly an email popped up with the offer. You can chase, call, ask them as many times as you do, but don't think the team can help as they can't communicate until all of this has been cleared. So I think it seems your process is just taking longer, but hopefully an offer is on its way.
Which role did you interview for, was it in Treasury?

Every ARAMCO recruitment and hiring process is unique. Additionally, each department is unique in the speed and slowness of making a decisions. It’s frankly unprofessional to d someone along this long on a hiring decision, unfortunately many times that’s the Aramco way for expat hires.

This is normal process.
Expect things to take much longer than you’d expect, radio silence is normal.
They will contact you when they are ready. Yes, it’s unprofessional to those of us used to higher standards, but it’s how the company operates.
Chances are if you find the recruitment process frustrating you’ll feel the same way about many other aspects once here!
You either like it or lump it.
