I am currently going through the background checks and just wanted ask about your experience and timeline. Secondly, in terms of getting kids birth certificates and marriage certificates attested and translated in Arabic, how did that process work?

My experience was fine with BI checks, one of my previous employers no longer exists, all I had to do was provide pay slips etc, thankfully I kept them all electronically. Only took a few weeks. Ask your relocation advisor, all the certificates will be sent to the embassy in London to be attested.

Did you find it odd they asked for a ref from a personal friend? Can't say I did. It's commitment from both sides, and Aramco want to know who they are bringing into their country. I didn't mind at all

How did it go for you? hi, it’s still going and I am none the wiser on the Arabic translation for my kids birth certificates. My RA told me that if the kids were born in the UK then why do we need to translate, but I have left it up to them now, then can inform me if anything it required.

They need translated and attested for the processing of the family visa once you arrive to KSA. It will save alot of time and speed up your yellow slip process.

You send those and your marriage certificate to London and the visa service sort it. Then they come back and you hand carry to KSA for processing for yellow slip.

You can possibly get your documents translated before travelling and keep receipts to save time.

I believe you will also need your degree translated along with mentioned documents. Someone gone though family visa process can throw more light pls.

It's most common for Aramco to bring the employee out on a "Family to follow" basis. In this circumstance you join on family status, will be awarded a family house on arrival and can begin the process as soon as you receive your Iqama. It takes only a few weeks from initiation till issue of the yellow slip. From issue of the yellow slip they have 90 days to get here.
Bring multiple copies of attested marriage certificate and birth certificates with you - if the lawyer / paralegal is signing 1 of each, you may as well have some spare.
Translation can be done by Aramco thru their system, so unless you are bringing your family with you at initial hire, no need to have these done beforehand.

Just to confirm from those in the know - Do we have to get attestation done for our documents including kids/wife or can we get the docs done by Aramco. If so, is that done prior to leaving or during first few days/weeks in Kingdom? Some people say its quicker if all documents are sorted prior to arrival - just wondering how best to get them so it is smooth(ish) sailing...
