Hi All - I have received an offer to join Aramco which I am contemplating. The big consideration for us is my wife's employment who is currently a GP here in the UK (family medicine consultant/physician as they call in KSA). I checked with RA and have been told there is no restriction from Aramco for her not to work. We have been doing some research and spoke to a couple of recruiters to see if there are any roles either at JHAH or other hospitals in Dhahran/Dammam - there don't seem to be many positions and a couple of recruiters did mention a role or two but told just submit your profile and they might get back to you in few months if any interest.
Has anyone experienced the same? Are there any doctors or JHAH doctors who can perhaps advise / guide / help refer? Any help will be really appreciated.

I thought as a dependent spouse, you are not allowed to work. Is it different when it comes to Aramco? I am hoping to get an offer soon but I am not sure if it will work out since my husband would want to join and pursue a job there. Sorry I can't answer your question though Elearn

Sorry I can't answer your question though Elearn My RA has told me that there are no restrictions on the dependent spouse not being able to work at Aramco. Of course your husband will have to find a suitable job but seems there shouldn't be any restrictions. Are you not joining Aramco?

Sorry I can't answer your question though Elearn Spouses can work providing they can find a job that isn’t reserved for Saudis only, the iqama states not allowed but that doesn’t mean you can’t apply for a job and get sponsored by an employer. The question mark is whether one loses one’s right to live in the compound by longer being sponsored by the employee, which seems to be very vague. Working for the company or JHAH wouldn’t impact on the ability to live on camp so is more black and white.

Our situations are virtually identical (albeit I have accepted the offer and am moving at the end of July). My wife is a GP and whilst for the first 12 months she will be caring for our 2 year old and a newborn, she wants to look at getting work at JHAH. We have been told that GPs aren't really a thing in Saudi but haven't done enough research to find out how true this is. I will let you know if something comes up.

They are, they just use the US name of “family doctor”, it’s still general medicine, day to day care. Edit, I just looked, Jhah call it “primary care”.

We have looked at this, they are called Family Medicine Consultant / Physician in the KSA or UAE generally. It is all family medicine essentially, or as they call primary care.

My wife is Consultant in UK with CCT does she still require to pass exam?
