Hi all, If I have accepted an offer from SA. Background check and medical underway. i slow talk to my boss and he has counter offered ( kinda retention bonus and promotion). What will be future implication to reject SA offer now? Also, how should I decline it at this point? TIA

I think the implication of backing out without a very good reason is a burnt bridge but difficult to tell. People back out in jobs offers at all stages before starting the job! So the sooner the better if you have changed your mind.
I have been in that situation before, and I can tell the counteroffer only gives you instant gratification that goes away very quickly. I suggest to think it through before making a final decision - ie. are you taking your family with you and how on board all of you are with the change?

Thanks for the response and shedding some light on your own experience. You are right also. The push factor from within the current org is higher than Pull factor from SA at this point of time. However, I read too the stagnant working environment at SA. So much in dilemma. NO, family is not going there but would stay back home.

Sounds like a smart move. If there is more than just $$ then staying put is your best bet. Kudos for using the Aramco offer to your advantage.

Appreciate it. Risk + luck worked I guess. Yes, actually SA didn't offer much anyway. I just dont want to close the doors for future, in case.
