I have just been informed that my offer has been withdrawn and there is no explanation provided. The recruiter mentioned that it is Saudi Aramco decision and Aramco Americas are not aware of any specifics. I cleared the background checks and the medicals (which took almost 2 months) and even my passport was with the Relocation Advisor. They are sending it back now. I am just very disappointed and quite frankly annoyed.
Has anything like this happened to anyone? What is the possible reason for rejecting me?

Your Mofa stamped employment agreement arrived that time? Not yet. They had sent for it.
Sorry to hear that. Which position did you apply for? Thanks. It was in Internal Audit.
Did they ask you to resign? Not yet but I was close. Lesson for others, please don’t resign even if they ask you do it. They are highly unpredictable and won’t even communicate with you.

Sorry to hear your job offer was withdrawn. Based on my interview experience with the Internal Audit group It does not surprise me that they willey nilley withdraw job offers. My experience was as follows: - the person asking the technical questions seemed snobbish and I had a hard time understanding what he was asking. He had a hard time articulating his questions in cohesive sentences; - had a hard time understanding why a person would be willing to take a step back and want to get experience in new areas even if that meant taking a step back; - the audit lead on the tele conference was unable to expound on the teams role as a third line of defense and seemed threatened during the interview; - Saudi boss was busy on his phone looking for deals at the mall rather than selling his organization; and when he was finally done - the Saudi boss that was in the room was nothing less than a narcissist who was of the opinion he knew everything and the interviewee knew nothing.
My take away after the interview was there seemed to be a high school buddy buddy system within that group and outsiders would not be welcome unless the outsider is known by or referred by an existing team member.
Everyone's experience differs yet i am a firm believer that interviews are a two way street where the company wants to know you and vice versa you wanting to know the company as well. Hence I rejected their offer which below the Net salary here. Furthermore, the benefits for expats have been diluted as such does not make economical sense.
All the best.

That's how most of the internal audit team is snobbish and condescending. I have been audited by them two times and both have been unpleasant. Also, internal audit employees are the first ones to go when the going gets tough which I saw after COVID pandemic.

Experion that is sad if the Internal Audit team has the "Gott Yah approach/ outlook" rather than one of "partnership" with management. Thanks for reaffirming that my read on the personas interviewing were on point and that I was not being biased. One last thing, the guy on the conference bridge and the boss had a very hard time describing their innovation within the audit lifecycle. Asked me to clarify my question as they were not following. Finally after watering down the question they responded in a condescending tone that Internal Audit approach is tried and tested and the need to deviate did not make sense. That was a real kicker for chuckles and laughter on my part. Anyhow water under the bridge. Cheers.
