Hi,
Are COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for foreign nationals applying for an Iqama in Saudi Arabia? If so, are there any exceptions or alternatives for individuals who are unable or unwilling to receive the vaccine due to medical or personal reasons? My wife is currently pregnant and we do not want her to receive the vaccine at this time (same with little kids).
If there is a requirement for vaccinations and we are not vaccinated, will we be required to receive the vaccine upon arrival in Saudi Arabia? I would appreciate any information or guidance from individuals who have recently gone through the process of obtaining an Iqama in Saudi Arabia.

I’m recent hire and my wife & I both are vaccinated. We were told my youngest, who is unvaccinated (age 9) was that vaccination was not required to enter KSA or iqama or to attend Aramco school but recommended to get vaccinated. They are coming next month with visa app under process. My oldest, whose in college, that will come to visit occasionally, who is not COVID vaccinated and refuses to get COVID vaccinated I was told he would not be required to get COVID vaccinated to enter country but may require additional registration and monitoring if enters and visits unvaccinated.
With the constant COVID variants and I believe the COVID symptoms are coming less serve for most when effective, I think the COVID vaccines will be reduced to annual flu vaccines. Eventually, most counties will lessen the COVID vaccine requirements to enter, IMO.

I don't think its a requirement for the Iqama, and since they don't check anymore at the border you'll get in ok. The tawakkalna is no longer used unless you wish to visit a hospital when you'll be asked to show your app with the vaccinated or other stats that lets you in. Also be aware that Aramco policy dictates that you must be have had the shots or have a medical exemption to continue working in their offices - this was until very recently actively monitored with KPIs etc...

I am vaccinated but an admin issue meant it could not be uploaded and I’ve never been asked for proof, dates etc anywhere since arriving in September.

Thank you for your replies.
Would you by any chance remember if your dependents have to go through chest x-ray too? As an employee, I know that you would go through it, what about little kids and wife?
My wife is pregnant and we would not want to expose her to additional unnecessary radiation.
Thanks!

Spouses do get the x ray, for the visa medical and the iqama. Pregnancy obviously changes that somewhat, but no experience. Children have no visa medical but do have the iqama one (bloods, weight etc) but no x ray), based on mine who is a teen.
