Hi all, I've done some research on this forum but can't find a response that directly answers my questions. I'm in process of being recruited for a secretary role. As a female, no doubt I'll be a single/bachelor status. I have a daughter and partner that will come over. After three months, can I apply for tourist and family visit visas for them to stay with them, and they just leave every 3 months? I was hoping to say that as I've got a partner (can get married if we need to) and child, I was hoping to ask for more $ on the proviso that I would need to support them financially. I'm aware my daughter won't go to the Aramco school, so my partner would home school her. But how much of an issue is it going to be, not being married?

This is a big source of conversation on the expat women in Saudi fb group, might want to join.
From what I’ve read, a tourist visa only allows you 90 days in one calendar year, you can come and go in that year but you can’t stay longer than 90 days total. A family visit visa, I believe is the 90 days, leave renew etc but it is only available to close relatives and spouses. So, yes, you’d have to be married. I also believe that family visit, on camp, is subject to approval and a lot of paperwork.
Other issues would be $, the company pays what it pays. Yes, people do negotiate but your amount of dependents isn’t going to be something they care about. Bachelors don’t get more because they aren’t using the schooling etc, they only get more travel days. And housing, there is no guarantee you’ll get a home, initially, that’s big enough for a family. Medical, no idea how much insurance for them would be but it’s a factor.
And I know you didn’t ask this, but that’s going to be very isolating for them, particularly your child. Might be very difficult to join groups without dependent status and like any expat community, stay at home dads are few and far between.

Thanks Tamsin for such a detailed response Sounds like we'll need to be married to overcome the visa issue with the family visit visa. I'm not looking to stay on camp, looking to rent a 3 bedroom in either the Tower or off compound. I'd imagine the home school would be isolating, however hoping to live some where family friendly where she can make friends. Also, will be looking for a nanny with children of her own so they can make friendships and my daughter can learn snippets of language. Can you please elaborate on the more travel days if this is something to consider as a contingency plan, I'm aware of the standard, but what is the extra if bachelor? Also, I had my interview last Monday, they said I'd find out within 2 days (So Wednesday) They asked for my typing test results and passport. I followed up on Thursday but nothing back. Should I follow up again on Monday arvo?

You should discuss further with recruiter and the department as post pandemic there can be flexibility.

And that, in my experience, is true across Asia. Nannies come on bachelor status from poorer regions, and leave their children at home. There are a whole bunch of rules to sponsoring someone yourself based on income etc or there is the more expensive option of agency. Not sure on the travel days, your RA will be able to tell you.

You need to be married or it’s only single status for you.
They can come as tourists but you’ll be limited to 90 days per year.
You can rent off camp, but it will cost $$ for somewhere acceptable, aramco won’t pay.
You can hire a nanny, there are agencies here that can assist. Just don’t tell aramco as it’s against policy for expats (without approval from SVP which is nigh on impossible)

They are for saudi families. Expats who have them are under the radar.
