Hi,
I am looking for recommendation on where to open HSBC offshore account (Cayman Islands, Jersey, Bahrain, etc). Please let me know your recommendations and why? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

You can go to the website and look for the HSBC Expat account or just call them

Thanks They’ll send it to where you ask them to, and you can adjust it monthly. Offshore is for taxation, including future taxation, purposes. And, quite frankly, I’d be avoiding keeping more than you need for bills in the UK at present, it’s circling the drain. |

And why don't you open account directly and KSA (USD/SAR) and get your salary deposited there, then anytime you can transfer to your bank account in your country?

Can the account be opened from the UK before reaching KSA? or it has to be opened from within KSA |

I don't think you can open HSBC expat once you start working in KSA.

I don't think you can open HSBC expat once you start working in KSA. Do everything before you get here, you may need to show actual docs at your local branch depending on how hot they are with KYC. Don't take any chances, in KSA the most simple of tasks back home often become impossible/an absolute bureaucratic nightmare. |

Hi there,
I will moving to KSA from UK at the end of the year, and wanted to know, the saudi bank accounts, can you have a dollar curreny account or does it have to be in the local currency. I dont have any uk expenses and wanted to see what options I have.
Any advice would be great for this newbie.

I don't think you can open HSBC expat once you start working in KSA. Do everything before you get here, you may need to show actual docs at your local branch depending on how hot they are with KYC. Did anyone managed to open HSBC offshore account prior to arrive to KSA?
Conditions to be able to do are:
1- Maintain a minimum of £50,000 (or currency equivalent) with us in deposits or investments
2- Have a salary of £100,000 (or currency equivalent)
3- Have an HSBC Premier account in another country
And currently I have none of them although I have normal HSBC account in Australia

And why don't you open account directly and KSA (USD/SAR) and get your salary deposited there, then anytime you can transfer to your bank account in your country? Why pay for the wire transfer when the salary can be deposited directly? Just until the family join to avoid taxation in home country |

I already had a premier account and met those conditions so only took a couple of weeks. As long as you meet the income requirements (if you don't meet this with the Aramco offer then I'd seriously reconsider coming) they don't seem to worry about the rest. I don't keep any savings with them beyond a few grand, or maintain any of their other products |

I should be ok with Aramco salary but how to open the account and I didn't start receiving this salary yet? I am not premier |
