Am a Canadian permanent resident who has filed for Canadian citizenship after meeting the eligibility. Am in the initial stage of application with Saudi Aramco. My questions are
1) Which payroll will I be eligible for? US payroll or Asian payroll, as my passport is from Asian country? Been living with my family for more than 3 years in Canada with no plans to move back to home country. Have also bought house in Canada. So for all practical purposes for comparable living standard and other factors to decide compensation, Canada is more relevant.
2) In case if they consider my Asian passport and offer me Asian payroll, then obviously the compensation would accordingly be impacted. In that case should I wait to get my Canadian citizen and passport and then reapply in future (As per CIC, there is provision for urgent processing of Canadian citizenship to apply for a job or avoid losing your job. I could also then apply for urgent pick up of passport). Or is it possible to ask for more time from recruiter to be able to get my citizenship under urgent processing and passport under urgent pick up and submit the same?
Is there any point that I must be aware of / keep in mind?
I have employment record in Canada and will submit paystubs form the Canadian employer I work for.
Thank you in advance for the response.
Regards.

I think they do no ask for citizenship when applying online (I simply do not remember!). However they will ask for a copy of the passport if successful in the selection process and given the time it could take this may play in your favour.
My timeline is described as follows 1. 26 Mar 22 - Applied 2. 07 Apr 22 - got invited to a On Demand Hire Vue interview (10 minute interview talking to a camera) 3. 08 Jun 22 - Interview - two hours after the interview I got told I was successful and asked me to fill another form, send payslips, academic transcripts, and copy of my passport.
All timelines are different, but you might be lucky to have the Certificate of Citizenship within the timeframe if the Canadian Naturalisation process is similar to the UK.
I think, not sure as I have read a lot of information, that the package is driven after taking into consideration citizenship + country of permanent residency.
Good luck

Thank you 18047. Can you please share any link where you would have come across the point that permanent residency is considered for payroll classification? Thank you and good luck!

Greetings el180477 Hope you are good. I have got the similar timeline from UK. Have you received your Offer yet? Regards Hi shif2015 All good thanks. I did receive offer and currently clearing contingencies, updated timeline described as follows 04/08/22: Received offer - 8 weeks after final interview took place. 08/08/22: Had a chat with recruiter regarding offer and sent negotiation letter. 10/08/22: Received revised offer 11/08/22: Accepted offer, and was advised that case will be handled with relocation advisor. 19/08/22: First approach by relocation advisor. Currently clearing contigencies, this can get more complex depending on the countries you have lived and how many life events has taken place (acquired degrees, civil status updates, children births, etc). Aramco facilitates the agents so you need to continue providing documents to get them legalised and attested. My advise is to contact recruiter to give an update in what status your offer is, Hope this helps

Canada and Asian countries fall under global payroll to my understanding. US payroll is United States and territories.
